Great Zeus, Father of men, you would deliver them all from the evils that oppress them, if you would show them what is the Daimon of whom they make use.

The ideas expressed in Dark September Rain are the result of two years spent researching and writing a book about spirituality and globalization and the intersection between personal and global transformation. The book is titled The Chrysalis Age: A Handbook for Personal and Global Transformation in the New Millennium and the majority of it was written in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.

Dark September Rain was originally written and always conceived of primarily as a stage play. It is an attempt to take the ideas of The Chrysalis Age and present them in a dramatic form that indirectly comments on the events of September 11th and all subsequent events of a similar nature. For this reason the play occasionally lapses into didacticism, but hopefully not at the expense of the story. Those interested in the ideas of the The Chrysalis Age can find the book online.

The play contains nearly an hour of material that was cut form the film version. So, if you are intersted in what else was happening at the farm, the play is the place to find out.

Shortly, I will be publishing the play along with essays from The Chrysalis Age, but until then, if you are interested you can download the manuscript of the play and essays as a PDF file.
